Our project, Dacade, has received a grant from the Celo Foundation (@CeloOrg) to grow Celo's developer community through peer-to-peer challenges and education. Dacade will act as a hub for strengthening Celo's learning community and growing Celo's ecosystem, expanding access to education and ultimately enabling a free-flowing distribution of educational and financial value. Thousands of organizations and individuals are already developing, growing, and governing Celo, an open-source platform that enables anyone to build borderless applications.
Our program focused on creating accessible and rewarding developer education will enable people interested in the Celo blockchain to expand its ecosystem while simultaneously strengthening our educational network. With the strength of the Celo brand and reputation behind us, we hope to build Dacade into a leading educator in the communities we are targeting, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa and South-America.
The Celo Dacade Challenge
At Dacade, we are focused on a unique, collaborative, and incentivized method of learning/teaching. As more people learn how to build on Celo via Dacade, the number of people working to grow the Celo ecosystem rises. That is the focus of the Celo Dacade Challenge, to grow a collaborative, Celo-developer-community through education.
This Celo course will be comprehensive in scope, beginning with curated materials teaching basic Celo concepts. Throughout the tutorial, developers will learn how to create a working Celo Mobile Dapp before encountering the Celo Challenge. The challenge lets developers apply their new knowledge by building a working project that they will post to GitHub so that they can receive feedback from their peers. As developers navigate through our educational curriculum around Celo, they are encouraged to collaborate on future projects and hackathons.
